Positive Life Coaching

Over twenty years ago I began to study what is now coined Energy MedicineHealing Healing and Mind-Body Healing and Mind-Body Medicine.

Oprah Winfrey's TV show introduced me to Caroline Myss and simply changed my life.  Caroline Myss' spiritual points of view on health and wellbeing rang totally true to me.  Studying her books and audio educational programs as well as personally attending many of her seminars completely changed my own view of my health and my life.  The more I learned from her, the more I had awareness that Ms. Myss' mantra "Your History Becomes Your Biology" was at the core of most of by body's discomforts and dis-ease.

I fully studied and continue to review all of her books and audio educational programs for the gems that they contain:

Anatomy of the Spirit (1996),  Why People Don't Heal and How They Can (1997),  Three Levels of Power and How to Use Them (1999),   Spiritual Madness (1999 audio),  Advanced Energy Amatomy (2001 audio course),  Sacred Contracts (2001),  Self-Esteem: Your Fundamental Power (2002 audio),  The Science of Medical Intuition: Self-Diagnosis and Healing with Your Body's Energy Systems (2002 audio course),  Invisible Acts of Power (2004),  The Language of Archetypes: Discover the Forces that Shape Your Destiny (2006 audio),  Entering the Castle (2007),  Defy Gravity: Healing Beyond the Bounds of Reason (2009),  Three Levels of Intuition (2012 audio),  Archetypes: Who Are You? (2013), and many other Caroline Myss materials.

I had suffered on and off throughout my life with debilitating chronic back spasms.  With my extensive Caroline Myss studies, reoccurrences of my back spams had dramatically reduced.  Whenever they began to return, I realized some of my issues needed more than just bringing my awareness to heal them.

What should be behind me that I just can't let go of?

My own life has continuously pushed my own practical training experiences in Mind-Body Medicine.

In 2002 I again despared with debilitating back spams.  For a period of several years I lived in intense stress.  In late 2000, my youngest son, Kyle, was diagnosed with chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML).  For over two years, I put my own life and my 20 year business as a professional dog trainer on hold over and over as my son endured cancer treatments of chemotherapy, a stem cell transplant and a home bound quarantine of six months.

In 2002 my oldest son, Brandon, left home to attend university.  I missed him tremendously but was also extremely proud and happy for him.  Brandon's absence from the house left an enormous void & deep sadness in my life.

It was two years after Kyle completed his cancer treatments, and Kyle was not only in remission, he seemed vibrant and healthy again.  Kyle's life was back to normal.  He living at home and studying computer programming at Miami Community College.  I was finally comfortable with Brandon no longer living with us.  I was ready to finally focus on MY interests.  I had been accepted into fall 2003 Florida Internation University's Registered Dietitian and Nutrition program.

Then in the summer of 2003, after months of several misdiagnosises, my mother was finally diagnosed with Stage 3 tongue cancer.  Once again I put my life on hold to be the primary caretaker of a family member.  I knew in my heart my mother would not survive.  I accepted the situation.  I wanted to share the time that my mother had left in this lifetime.  I withdrew from the Registered Dietitian and Nutrition Program at FIU.  I closed my dog training business entirely.

Meanwhile my relationship with my husband became increasingly strained because we were both always stressed.  It stressed him even more if I tried to talk about how I was struggling with so many "negative" feelings.  So I put on a Happy Face and attempted to repressed all my feelings of sorrow and self-pity.

During this period, I began to feel more and more that I couldn't get the love and nurturing that I craved from my family.  Worse, because of time and financial concerns, I stopped my activities that made me feel uplifted.  Like receiving massages, competing in my life long hobby of dog sports, gardening in my yard, and sharing lunches and movies out with friends.  The only "activity" that I was practiced consistently was mediating.  Even that wasn't enough to permanently lift me.  I was always drained and became depressed, though I tried very hard not to show it.  I didn't know how else to love, care and nuture myself.  My perception was that my love cup was constantly being drained by those I loved.  I felt like I was giving most my own cellular energy to my youngest son.  And so I was.

Then the loving thoughtful gift of a book from my husband renewed the conformation I needed to explore more mind-body connections.

This book was entitled:  Back Sense (2002).  Written by two psychologists and an MD, it presented scientific research that the majority of chronic back pain was NOT from incurable medical conditions, but in how the body expressed the conflicts of the emotions and mind

My life experiences inspired me to learn more about Mind-Body Medicine from a medical point of view.

I discovered and read Healing Back Pain: The Mind-Body Connection (1991 & 2001) by John E Sarno MD, a highly insightful medical doctor who identified decades ago how mental stress and other psychological factors trigger the physiological causes of most chronic pain, primarily continuous tension in muscle fascia.

Dr Sarno discovered:  how anxiety and repressed anger triggers muscle spasms;  why self-motivated and successful people are prone to muscle tension pain;  how people train themselves to experience back pain.

He created a six week program for his patients to recognize the emotional roots of their pain and methods to sever the connection between mental and physical pain.  Dr. Sarno also wrote Mind Over Back Pain (1984), The MindBody Prescription (1998) and The Divided Mind (2006).

I realized that meditation work alone was not enough to change my external interactions with others.  I needed to actually learn and practice how to be congruent in my external world with my internal realizations.

I realized I actually needed to find my courage and allow myself to be vulnerable and disappointed in order to do this.  So I did, one day at a time.  I found my courage to actively resolve my issues with the people that I connected to my issues.  I found my courage to ask for what I needed without venting the sorrow, bitterness, resentments or anger I had been repressing.

Once I began this process,  I self-enabled and self-empowered myself to make many changes in my relationships with specific friends and family members.

Some of my issues were about my finding forgiveness (for others and for myself),  some about acceptance,  some about setting healthier boundaries,  and some about letting relationships go completely.

It was amazing to me how quickly my back spasms and other pains disappeared.

What should be behind me that I just can't let go of?

Whenever my back spasms return, I always know I have some more internal awareness and then some external, real life work to do.

My Trainings in Neural Muscular Testing

& Energy Psychology or Energy Kinesiology

I am proud to specialize in neuro-muscular testing (NMT) as an accurate biofeedback tool as part of a focused energetic treatment plan.

Energy Psychology, Specialized or Energy Kinesiology are general terms for using neuro-muscular testing (NMT) to determine weaknesses in muscle, energy meridians, and other body and emotional connections and functions.

(Did you know over 50% of all chiropractors use NMT in their practices?)

I am certified at all four levels of Touch for Health (TFH), my first structured Energy Kinesiology Program.

I am a Certified NAET Practitioner and Associate, listed on the http://www.NAET.com website.

All NAET practitioners are required to be a Licensed Professional Healthcare Provider.

I am Licensed by the Department of Health of the State of Florida  as an Acupuncture Physician and Primary Healthcare Provider

With my strong background in acupuncture and Oriental medicine and TFH Energy Kinesiology,  I easily became proficient with the NAET training program.

NAET was my introduction to acupuncture / acupressure as energy medicine being a real healthcare approach.

NAET is highly effective in resolving allergies and sensitivities.

I became a Professional Kinesiology Practitioner after completely all 4 levels of the PKP program over 2 years of study with Arlene Green at the US Kinesiology Training Institute in Chapel Hill, NC.  More info: http://www.uskinesiology.com.

The PKP international program was developed by New Zealand medical doctor, Bruce Dewe MD and his wife, Joan Dewe MA.  Both Bruce and Joan have taught kinesiology workshops around the world for 20 years. Professional Kinesiologists are licensed healthcare professionals in New Zealand.

The PKP program teaches not only a wealth of kinesiology techniques, but also includes personal development, relationship skills and the opportunity to make personal emotional and spiritual growth. https://www.icpkp.com/index.html

I am also a highly competent BodyTalker.  It is my favorite form of energy kinesiology.

I have found that The BodyTalk System is one of the most efficient yet all encompassing modalities to utilize Energy Kinesiology to resolve mind-body and energetic health issues.
