My Background and Education

I have earned an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Health Science, as well as a professional level  Masters in Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

I have always been passionate and fascinated by animals, trees, nature and the Universe.

I was raised in the beautiful rolling woodlands and pastures of southeastern Pennsylvania near Valley Forge where I was fortunate to attend and benefit from a superior public school system.

Although I have a strong artsy, creative and nurturing side, mildly dyslexic and hyperactive, and in spite of mathematics being my weakest subject, my parents only encouraged me to study the sciences because of my deep love for animals and nature.

I studied biology, psychology and etology (the study of animal behavior) with the intent of becoming another Jane Goodall until I realized that my work intent would keep me from having the home and family I also wanted.

While studying Biology at the University of Georgia, I worked full time for 3 years in a genetics research laboratory.  Although it was an interesting work experience, I realized I definitely did not want to work in a lab as a lifelong career.

My hobbies allowed me to “followed my bliss” with animals and behavior, especially of horses and dogs.

I became a proficient equestrian in dressage and eventing, owning and managing a horse boarding stable for several years.

After a highly successful 20 year career as a dog trainer, canine behavior consultant, and the owner of Wag Time Dog Training, I was inspired along new paths into health care.

My own debilitating health issues in my late 30’s with early onset osteoarthritis pushed me to learn a naturopathic approach to nutrition.  After stabilizing my osteoarthritis with nutrition, supplementation and Tai Chi exercise, I was accepted into Florida International University’s competitive 3 year program for registered dietitians and nutritionists.

During this same time period, I and my two sons began NAET and acupuncture treatments.

All of our health issues improved so dramatically that NAET and Oriental Medicine completely revolutionized my choices into holistic and complementary healthcare.

I realized that energy modalities such as Energy Healing, Mind-Body MedicineNAET and Acupuncture were the pivotal part of my healing and I decided to study them instead.

That was over 15 years ago and I continue to be amazed at how our awareness and the self maintenance of our personal energy are powerful in affecting our wellbeing and our wellness.
